OBEDIENCE

God has been asking me to do and go a lot lately. To go when I want to stay, to stay when I want to go. To do when I don’t think I can, to not do what I want so badly to do. To let go when I want to hold on.

The things He asks are not easy. I don’t always want to cooperate. I don’t always go willingly. I have begged Him to change His mind. He is patient with me anyway.

I know He’s up to something with all this sweeping clean. It’s a Call to I know not what. Not yet anyway.

But every day on my way to work I drive by this beautiful reminder of Obedience. It calls to me. Deeply. So I went… to a Jesuit retreat. I’m not Catholic, but they didn’t ask me for ID at the door : )

In the stillness the message came… of the Blessings that come from obedience.

We don’t always know why. Faith is Trusting that if He asks, there is a reason.

“Thy will be done” is always the best response.
